Michael Alan “Mike” LeCroy, 61, of Carnesville, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 3, 2016.

Born August 13, 1954, in Franklin County, he was the son of Betty Payne LeCroy and the late Bill H. LeCroy. He was a 1972 graduate of Franklin County High School, a 1974 graduate of Emanuel College, and received a BBA in Risk Management at the University of Georgia in 1976. He was the owner and manager of LeCroy Insurance Company, Hartwell, representing Country Financial.  He was a member of the Hartwell United Methodist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Christopher LeCroy, Sylva, NC, and Adam LeCroy, Athens, GA; daughter, Alayna LeCroy, Savannah, GA; his mother, Betty LeCroy, Carnesville; sister and brother-in-law, Ed and Cindy LeCroy-Schemel, Signal Mountain Tennessee; niece, Lee Schemel, Signal Mountain, TN; aunts and uncles, Carolyn McCall , Jean Bailey, Louise Crawford, Steve LeCroy, and Blanton Payne; numerous cousins, including Delta McCall; and his special Chocolate Labrador Retriever “Abby”.

Services will be Wednesday afternoon at 3pm at the Hartwell First United Methodist Church with Dr. Allen Stewart. Interment will follow in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home and will be placed in the church 1:30 Wednesday afternoon.   The family is  at the home of his mother, 66 Church Street, Carnesville.  They will receive friends 6 until 8pm Tuesday evening at the Ginn Funeral Home. Flowers are welcome but those wishing to make memorials please do so to the Hartwell First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 200 East Howell Street, Hartwell, GA 30643.

    I am so very sorry to read of Mike’s death. I remember our “growing up” days in Carnesville. I am sure he was a fine man, because both of his parents were excellent role models. My sincerest sympathy to all the family.

    Betty & Family, We are very sorry to learn about Mike. It was always so pleasant to see Mike when he came to church, sat with you, and watch the pride & happiness he brought to you. He always was such a nice and respectful young man as we watched him grow up in our church. May God bless and comfort you is our prayer for each of you.

  11. I am Mike’s neighbor on Whippoorwill Circle. We talked very often and Jeanette and I sure will miss him. He was at our house this past week and upgraded our insurance policy. Our prayers for the family and friends of Mike. Benny and Jeanette Cheek.

  12. I sure will miss seeing Mike come into the 10:00 worship service at Hartwell First Methodist. He will be missed in our church.
