Shelby Jean Bond Nesmith, 79, passed away June 26, 2016, at her home.

Born September 9, 1936, in Carnesville, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Fred and Nettie Forester Bond. She was the widow of the late John William Nesmith II.  A former resident of Stone Mountain, she was a security guard with Scientific Atlanta.     She was a Sunday school teacher of the Stone Mountain Baptist Tabernacle Church,  and also worked at the Stone Mountain Baptist Tabernacle Christian School as a school bus driver and security guard.  She was a member of the Middle River Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, John W. Nesmith III, Carnesville, GA and James W. Nesmith, of Lavonia, GA; one sister Mary Agnes Millen, Conyers, GA; and two grandchildren, Aron and Alicia, and their mother Agnes.

Services will be Tuesday at 2pm at the B D Ginn Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Tommy Childress, Rev. Phillip Garrett, and Rev. Jerome Hill.   Interment will be in the New Bethel Baptist Church cemetery.

The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The family is at the home. They will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Monday evening at the funeral home.
