Edith Cannon Andrews, 92, of  Carnesville, passed away Friday morning, August 5, 2016, at the Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born June 21, 1924, in Lakemont, Georgia, she was the daughter of James Terrell and Derie Sarah Ramey Cannon.  She was the widow of the late Horace Melvin Andrews and was the grandmother of the late Nickolas Andrew Carey. She was the sister of the late Eulice Cannon, Leo Cannon, Blanche Dyar, and Lillian Cannon.  She had been a telephone operator, a textile worker, and had retired from Johnson & Johnson.  She was the oldest  member of the Liberty Baptist Church.

Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Stanley Carey, Carnesville, GA, and Dale and Eddie Fowler, Carnesville, GA; two granddaughters, Gina & Jason Sorrells, Elise &Nick Johnson, grandson, Luke Fowler, and one great-grandchild  Ansley Sorrells.

Services will be 4pm Sunday afternoon at the Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd West officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The family is at their respective homes.  The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 Sunday afternoon at the Liberty Baptist Church prior to the funeral.
