Pamela Carter Whitsel


Pamela Louise Carter Whitsel, 55, of Carnesville, passed away Saturday afternoon September 10, 2016, at the Stephens County Hospital, Toccoa, GA.

Born March 28, 1961, in Phenix City, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Louise Lavon McFay Herring.  She had been a Dietician  and Cafeteria Manager with Brown Convalescent Center.  She was of the Baptist  faith.

Survivors include her husband, John Whitsel; daughters, Lavon Grizzle, Carnesville, Melinda Atkinson, Carnesville, and Angela Solomon, Las Vegas, NV; Amanda Grizzell, Carnesville, Angie Whitsel, Carnesville, Jane Whitsel, Elberton, GA; adoptive parents, Garland and Jane Earnest, Franklin Springs; three brothers, Jackie Herring,  Atlanta, Stanley Ray Herring, Columbus, GA, Nathan Earnest, Franklin Springs, Emelyn Kendall, Carnesville, and Leslie McFarlin, Carnesville, GA; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 5pm Monday evening at the funeral home, followed by a private family gathering.
