Willie Inez Burroughs, 89, of the Red Hill Community, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 10, 2016, at Hope Assisted Living, in Dacula, GA.
Born December 8, 1926, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late William “Will” and Dorothy Faulkner Allen. She was the widow of the late Harold Burroughs and the mother of the late William “Bill” Burroughs. She was the sister of the late Betty Spencer and sister-in-law of the late Wayne Cooper. Her beloved companion, Babe the cat, also predeceased her. She was a homemaker, and had worked in food services with Georgia Baptist Assembly, Franklin County High School, Carnesville Elementary, and Camp Toccoa. She was a member of the Hunter’s Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Shirley and Jerry Walker, Martin, GA; two sisters and brother-in-law. Louise and Floyd Pitts of Belton, SC, and Mary Cooper of Carnesville, GA; Grandchildren and granddaughters-in-law, Wayne and Sally Walker, Bryan and Nean Walker, and Tammy Walker, Carnesville, GA; great-grandchildren, Brandi, Michelle, Tyler, Blake, Amanda, Josh, Jessica, and Nathan; great-great-grandchildren, Emma, McKenna, and Knox.
Services will be Tuesday at 2pm at the B D Ginn Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Vernon Dorminey and Rev. Ben Huff. Interment will be in the Franklin Memorial Gardens North.
The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The families are at their respective homes. They will receive friends from 5 until 7pm Monday evening at the funeral home. The family wants to extend their thanks to the staff of Hope Assisted Living, Embrace Hospice, and all the family and friends for all the care, calls, and visits over the past several years.
