Constance Betty Ruth Kellar Scott, 86, of the Red Hill Community, passed away Wednesday morning, February 25, 2015.

Born July 31, 1928, in Carnesville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas James and Janie Whiten Kellar. She was the widow of the late Roy Henry Scott and was the sister of the late J T Kellar, Noah Kellar, Flora Kellar, Tommie Lou Kellar, Myrtie Lee Kellar, Ruby Brown, Lorene Segars, Katherine Whitworth, Gaither Bentley, and Lizzie Goolsby. She was a homemaker and a retired lunchroom worker at Carnesville Elementary School.
She was a member of the Eastern Star, and had been a volunteer at the Cornerstone Ministry and the Children’s After School Bible School. She was a member of the Hunter’s Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Leon Scott, Carnesville, and James and Kelli Scott, Lavonia; four daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Eddie Johnson, Royston, Sara Jane and Billy Busby, Carnesville, Carolyn Scott, Lavonia, and Jeanette and Kelly Congar, Lula, GA; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3pm Friday at the B D Ginn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ben Huff and Rev. Grady Jordan. Interment will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Sara Jane Busby of Red Hill. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7pm Thursday evening and 1 until 3pm Friday afternoon at the funeral home.

    I worked at PruittHealth as a CNA and was blessed to have helped with Ms. Betty. She was such a sweet lady and my prayers are with each of you.

    So sorry to hear of the pasting of Betty. I prayed that the Lord with be with you, in your time of need. I was out of town, when I heard. I remember spending time growing up, with all of y’all. Betty, will be miss.
