Lou Edna Ginn
Lou Edna Slater Ginn, 80, of Elberton, GA, passed away Monday afternoon, July 13, 2015, at The Oaks of Athens.
Born April 21, 1935, in Toccoa, GA, she was the daughter of the late J. C. “Pete” and Vera Mae Andrews Slater. She was the widow of the late James Guy “Gabby” Ginn and sister of the late Revonda (Decker) Harbert. She was the mother-in-law of the late Don Williams. She was a 1954 graduate of Lavonia High School and was a member of the Beta Club. She was a resident of Fulton and DeKalb counties for almost 55 years and was retired from J C Penny of Northlake Mall in 1996. She was a member of Middle River Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, James (Mike) Ginn, of Elberton, Ga; two daughters: Janice and husband Johnny Bolton, of Dacula, Ga; and Jamie Williams of Tignall, GA; Two grandsons, Christopher Ginn and Blake Ginn; two brothers, Herman Slater and wife Jodi, Woodstock, Ga, and Frank Slater and wife Judy, Hartwell; two sisters, Daimy Keese and husband Jon, Seneca, SC, and Claudia Hamby, and husband Cecil, Evans GA.
Services will be 2pm, Thursday afternoon at the B D Ginn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Britt Ginn. Burial will be in Middle River Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home, Carnesville. The families are at their respective homes. They will receive friends from 4 until 8pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Middle River Baptist Church, 544 Highway 326, Carnesville, Ga 30521 for the memory of Lou Edna (Slater) Ginn.
