Kathryn Worley

Kathryn Elizabeth McConnell Worley, 70, of Carnesville, passed away Monday morning, October 5, 2015, at the Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born September 14, 1945, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late James Harry and Clide Ellen Bibbs McConnell. She was the sister of the late Jean Yearwood and sister-in-law of the late Melvin McFarlin. She had worked at Bozal and Shaw Industries. She was a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Craig Worley; one son, Darin Worley, Carnesville; two sisters and brother-in-law; Janice McFarlin, Carnesville, and Brenda and Larry Brown, Lavonia; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Wednesday at 2pm at the B D Ginn Memorial Chapel, with Rev. David Bryan and Rev. Bill Stacey Interment will be in the Franklin Memorial Gardens North.

The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The family is at their respective homes. They will receive friends from 12 noon until the funeral hour Wednesday afternoon.

    Learned of Kathryn’s death from a former co-worker at Bosal while at M &J Restaurant on Thursday evening.

    Employees like Kathryn made any day at work an enjoyable day. I always look forward to chatting with her as I went by her machine. She was a very pleasant person to talk with and work with.

    I just saw on here about Kathryn’s passing. I am so sorry we didn’t find out about it earlier. Our thoughts are with you and your family in this time. She was such a sweet lady and I miss seeing her and you at the nursing home! Our deepest sympathy.
