Larry Jackson Bennett, 67, of the New Bethel community passed away Friday evening, October 30, 2015, at his home.

Born May 14, 1948, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late W. J. “Dub” and Evagene Fulghum Bennett. He was the brother of the late William Eugene Bennett. Larry retired from Milliken after 30 years as a control equipment technician. Larry cherished his family especially his granddaughters. He loved working and detailing automobiles and his favorite was Red Corvettes. He was a member of Community Harvest Church.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy McFarlin Bennett; son and daughter-in law, Tim and Sherri Bennett, Carnesville, two granddaughters, Candice Bennett and Kristin Nix; three great-grandchildren, Brody, Drake, and Callie; brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Carol Bennett, Toccoa; sister and brother-in-law, Tina and Ron Cole, Marina, California; three nephews and on niece.

Services will be Monday afternoon at 2pm at the New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Childress and Tommy Purcell. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home, Carnesville and will be placed in the church 1:30 Monday afternoon. The family is at the home and will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 3 until 5pm.

    I am so sorry to hear about Larry. I did not know anything about it until today when I read something on Facebook that Moyce had written. Again I am so sorry. I hope to get down to see you soon.

  6. So sad to hear of Larry’s passing. Larry was an easy going peaceful guy who would help you any way he could. I doubt Larry ever hurt anyone’s feelings or made anyone mad at him. I will keep the family in my thoughts and prayers.

  8. I was shocked to hear of Larry’s death. I remember he and Peggy from Wright’s years ago. Larry had a pleasant personality and it was my pleasure to have known such a fine man. My sincere sympathy to Peggy and all the family.
