William Melvin Jordan, 64, of the New Franklin Community, passed away Monday afternoon, December 7, 2015, at his home.
Born February 8, 1951, in Franklin County, he was the son of Willie H. and Pauline Bradley Jordan. He was a self employed diesel and heavy equipment mechanic. He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War in the Philippines and Thailand.
He was an enthusiastic bowler with the Georgia All Stars and was a member of the Double Branches Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline K. “P J” Jordan; his parents, Willie and Pauline Jordan, Lavonia; step-children, Jeff Reese, Lytton Iowa, and Lori Fry, Des Moines, Iowa; sisters, Carolyn Jordan, Lavonia, Diane Patterson, Lavonia, and Kim Warf, Concord, NC; one brother, Wayne Jordan, Lavonia; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2pm Wednesday at the New Franklin Christian Church with Corey Pulliam, Rev. Hal Cason, and Carl Beckam. Interment will be in the New Franklin Christian Church.
The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 1:30 Wednesday. The family is at the home of his parents, Willie and Pauline Jordan. They will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Tuesday evening at funeral home.
