Jones Edward South, 91, of Lavonia, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 18, 2020, at NHC Healthcare of Mauldin, SC.
Born January 15, 1929, in Red Hill, he was the son of the late Kermit Johnson and Ada Lee Bruce South. He was the husband of the late Mary Ruth Smith South and brother of the late Lamar South. He served in the U S Navy and also the US Army. He was a retired machinist from Lockheed Corporation and was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.
He is survived by sister Annie Sue “Wendell” Crump Bramlett, Taylors, SC, and Betty Forester, of Carnesville, GA; and nieces and nephews.
He will be entombed at Franklin Memorial Gardens with private family services.
