Alberta Virginia Owens Santmyres, 90, of Carnesville, passed away Wednesday afternoon December 4, 2019.
Born July 2, 1929 in Carnesville, she was the daughter of the late Adger Howard and Ana Payne Owens. She was the widow of the late Clarence Richard “Jack” Santmyres and sister of the late Harold Owens, Troy Owens, Susie Sumner, and Bill Owens. She taught elementary school in Carnesville and Miami Florida, and was a member of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sister, Van Owens Williams, Carnesville, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11am Saturday morning at the Cross Roads Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 10:30. The family is at the home. They will receive friends from 4pm until 6pm Friday evening at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome but those wishing to make memorials please do so to the Cross Roads Baptist Church, 16144 GA Hwy 59, Carnesville, GA 30521.
