Annette McGill Carey, 79, of the Sandy Cross Community, passed away Sunday afternoon at Piedmont Athens Hospital.
Born December 7, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Tyrus and Winnie Belle Blackburn McGill. She was the widow of the late Ernest Fermon Carey, and sister of the late Mary Nell Martin and Charles Edward McGill. She was a retired sales associate with Wal-Mart of Commerce. She was a member of Zidon Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Bradley and Nancy Carey, Sandy Cross; granddaughter, AnnaBella; one brother Paul McGill, of Statham; nieces and nephews, Paula McGill Pledger, Snellville, Kevin McGill, Athens, Marcia Martin Ayers, Carnesville, Mark Martin, Commerce, Casey McGill, Homer, and Ty McGill, of Homer.
Services will be 3pm Wednesday afternoon at the Zidon Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Bond. Interment will be at the Gordon Church cemetery.
The body is at Ginn Funeral Home. The family is at the home and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday evening and 1pm until 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. Condolences may be left at ginnfuneralhome.com.
