Robert Luree, "Bob" Harris, 91, of the Red Hill Community, passed away Friday morning, August 2, 2019, at the St Mary’s Hospital, Athens, Georgia.

Born August 24, 1928 in East Point, Georgia, he was a son of the late Henry Olin and Bertha Carolina Jones Harris. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Isabelle “Dot” Little, grandfather of the late Lara Pilkinton, and great-grandfather of the late Montana Durham and Amythest Algaze.  He was a brother of the late Harry Harris, Tom Harris, Louis Harris, and Mary Louise Wilson.  He was a graduate of West Fulton High School.

He and his wife, Dot were married July 30, 1949.  He was a statistician and executive assistant to the Vice President of Georgia Power Company. During World War II, he served as a civilian reconnaissance pilot, flying a P-38 over Europe.  He had been a Boy Scout Leader in Carnesville and Atlanta, and was a member of the Ambassadors of Retired Georgia Power Employees.  He designed, created, and sold unique jewelry and stained glass. He was past president of the Georgia Gem and Mineral Society. He was a member of  the Franklin County Historical Society, and the Savannah River Genealogical Society, and was a founding member of the Tugalo Arts Guild.  He was member and ruling elder of the Carnesville Presbyterian Church, which closed in 2019.  He joined Allens United Methodist Church at that time.

Survivors include three daughters and son-in-law, Renee Harris, Eastonollee, Melissa and Joe Greene, Red Hill, and Martha Harris, Carnesville, GA; four grandchildren, Brian & Pam, Patrick & Tamara, Emily & Kayla, Andrew & Brooke; seven great-grandchildren, Lesly, Whitney, Brian, Jr., Warren, Tristan, Emma Lynn and Kate Isabelle; one great-great-grandson Jasper.

Services will be 3 pm Sunday afternoon at the Allens United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Garner.  Interment will be in the church cemetery

The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home, Carnesville. The family will be at the home of Joe & Melissa Greene. They will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2 until 3 pm at the Allens United Methodist Church Fellowship Center. Memorials may be left to the Allens United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
