Christopher Joseph “Chris” Ayers, 58, of Carnesville, passed away Monday morning, at the Sacred Heart Hospital.

Born June 18, 1961, in Franklin County he was the son of the late Odis Darby Ayers and the late Shirley Elizabeth Thomas Ayers Brown. He was a graduate of Franklin County High School and was retired from the U. S. Air Force. He became a Franklin County Deputy Sheriff Deputy in 1999 and has been the Franklin County Marshall since 2001. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #186.  He was a member and deacon of the Cross Roads Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Laura Hart Ayers; one son, Adam Ayers, Carnesville; three daughters, Vanessa Owings,  Heather Ayers, and Allison Bachman; three grandchildren, Faith, Teresa, and Olivia; three brothers, Jason Ayers, David Ayers, Carnesville, and Jonathan Ayers, Seattle, WA; one sister Dawn Shaw.

Services will be 11am Friday morning at the B D Ginn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tommy Cleveland and Rev. Philip Blinson.  Interment will be in the family cemetery.

The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The families are at their respective homes. The will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.  Condolences may be left at ginnfuneralhome.com.
