David Martin Awbrey, 65, of Carnesville, passed way Monday evening, December 3, 2018 at the Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born May 2, 1953 in Augusta, Georgia, he was the son of Jack and Ruby Awbrey. He was the brother of the late Archie Awbrey, Kenneth Awbrey, and Ann Armstrong. He was a veteran of the U S Navy. He was a longtime manager for Walmart, and was a member of the Elbert County Gun Club. He was a member of the Middle River Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Jean Hill Awbrey; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Michelle Awbrey, Spartanburg, SC; three grandchildren, Devan, Katlyn, and Melissa; sisters, Margaret Holloway, Franklin, GA, Gilda Miller, Tallahassee, FL, and Patsy Hawkins, Loganville, GA.
Services will be 12 noon Thursday morning at the Middle River Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Garrett and Rev. Bobby Patman. Interment with military honors will be in the church cemetery.
The body will be placed in the church at 10am Thursday. The family is at the home and will receive friends at the church Thursday morning from 10am until the funeral hour.
