Dear TTeresa and Segars Family,
I was so sorry to hear about Doug. He was a Carnesville Classic! My family truly loved him and we loved Becky. He was a true supporter of my Dad at election time. In their later years, Doug would often visit my Dad when he was home bound. I’ll never forget the Doug Segars stroll. Nobody walked like Doug! May God bless you and keep you during your time of loss.
Thank you so much Chris. Our families have always loved one another. Please keep us in your prayers as you know this is very hard.We love you and your family.
Chris, you nailed it – The Doug Segars stroll. It always got him around, and it was always in Doug’s timing, with Doug’s style. A true Carnesville Classic…
May happy memories of your loved one give you strength to find peace and healing. May love surround you during this time. My sympathies to you on the loss of your father. May peace and love surround you and happy memories remain so you may heal quickly during this time or grieving.
Doug was a part of growing up in Carnesville. From age 11-12 on, I spent many hours in the paint shop. A lot of people did body work and painting; Doug was an artist at it. I can’t count the cars I bought from Doug, and sometimes he’d buy them back from me. It’s strange that today I saw a bill of sale from 1981 that had Becky’s handwriting “Doug will buy it back if Larry doesn’t sell it in 60 days.” I sold it in less than 60 days…
We laughed a lot, and he was friends with Dad from our earliest days in Carnesville until Dad died – at almost exactly the same age as Doug. Chris called Doug “a Carnesville Classic” – you can’t improve on that description.
Blessing y’all – Larry
