Gilbert Columbus Orr, 85, of the Middle River Community, passed away Monday evening, October 12, 2020, at his home.
Born January 16, 1935, in Flowery Branch, GA, he was the son of William Phillip “Phil” and Christine Grimes Orr. He was the brother of the late Billy Orr, Wilda Brown, and Alice Orr. He was a cattleman and poultry farmer. He was a member of the Middle River Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret Johnson Orr; one son, Anthony Orr, Carnesville; one brother, Max Orr, Gainesville, Ga; two sisters, Frieda Reeves of Gainesville and Margaret Chatham, Ellijay, GA.
Graveside services will be 11am Thursday morning at the Franklin Memorial Gardens North, with Rev. Phillip Garrett.
The body is at Ginn Funeral Home, Carnesville. The family is at the home. Friends who wish to stop by and pay respects can do so from 1pm until 5pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Condolences may be left at ginnfuneralhome.com.
