James Everett Parrish, 85, of Carnesville, passed away Saturday morning, September 30, 2017, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.
Born April 11, 1932, in Princeton , North Carolina, he was the son of the late James Eddie and Effie Daughtry Parrish. He was the brother of the late Elton Parrish, Estelle, Rains, and Ruth Powell. He was a pressman and had retired from the Atlanta Journal Constitution. He served in the U S Army during the Korean War. He was of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include his Dorothy “Dot” Benton Parrish; son, James Parrish Jr. Carnesville, GA; four daughters, Ann Parrish Strickland, four Oaks, NC, Doris Parrish, Smithville, NC, Hilda Parrish, Smithville, NC, and Debra Leigh Alewine, Newnan, GA; eight grandchildren, including Kristopher, Monica, Isabelle, Hunter, and Audrey; two great-grandchildren, including Blake, and four great-great grandchildren; brother, Melvin Parrish, Mt Olivet, NC; two sisters, Evelyn Jones, Smithfield, NC and Eunice Hooks, Wilson, NC.
