
Michael Aaron Gilleland, 60, of Carnesville, passed away Sunday morning, August 8, 2021, at the Anderson Memorial Medical Center.
Born November 24, 1960, in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Fred and Sandra Wiley Gilleland Sr. He was the father of the late Stephen Michael Gilleland and brother of the late Polly Ann Gilleland Lewis. He was a retired mechanic, and was a member of Old Pathway Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Jordan Gilleland; sons and daughters-in-law, Marie & Jeremy Davis, Carnesville; Matt & Amber Gilleland, Springville, Alabama; Craig & Amy Patterson, Springfield, MO;; Jeremy & April Patterson, of Winder; and Cheyenne Pitts, Carnesville; nine grandchildren; sister Ilo Gilleland, of Tennessee and Freddy Gilleland Jr, Lavonia.
Services will be Tuesday at 2pm at the Old Pathway Baptist Church with Jeremy Davis, Billy Swift and Austin Swift. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The family is at the home and receive friends from 6 until 8pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Condolences may be left at ginnfuneralhome.com.

It’s been about 45 or 50 years sense we were good friends at Lakewood Elementary played football there together and hung out at Joseph B Whitehead boys club I found him on FB about 4 or 5 years ago. We had many chats and shared a long of memories from our Lakewood days.

Mike was a good man a family man that loved his family and friends and would do anything to help someone in need your going to be missed by many people here on earth but where he’s going there’s no more pain and suffering .I just want to pray that God be with the family’s and friends as they cope with their loss.
I know the funeral was at 2 pm.iwas right there with you all looking at the pictures you posted.ilove you all. Mike has always had a special place in my heart and I will miss him.he gave me a gift before his passing he said he saw all the family that had already passed they told Mike to let us know they loved us and that heaven is real.till we meet again.
