James Nelson Eavenson,84, of Carnesville, passed away Friday afternoon, March 18, 2022, at his home.

Born February 18, 1938, in Carnesville, he was the son of the late Ben and Ossie Bell Barnes Eavenson. He was the brother of the late Rachael Eavenson, Cliff Eavenson, Reba Segars,  and Gene Eavenson.  Nelson was a hardworking poultry and cattle farmer, and had served as a director for the Franklin County Farm Bureau.  Nelson had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing.  He was a dedicated and deeply principled Christian, and was a member of the Word of Life Christian Center, in Carnesville.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy Ann Keller Eavenson; sons and daughters-in-law, Truitt and Lisa  Eavenson, Savannah, GA, Travis and Kim Eavenson, Seneca, SC, and Tracy and Lisa Eavenson, Carnesville; 10 grandchildren, Ben, Alden, Bekah, Moriah & Bryan, Tanner, Sawyer, Brooke, Memori & Levi, McKenna, and Merrit; great-grandchild, Polson;  sisters, Pauline Segars and Ann Tompkins, both of  Carnesville, and Faye Phillips, of Rydell, GA; brothers, Bennie Eavenson, Dwight Eavenson, and Charles Eavenson, all of Carnesville, and Haskell Eavenson, of Dewey, Arkansas.

Services will be Monday at 2pm at Word of Life Christian Center with Rev. Johnny Willis and Rev. Terry Fowler. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens.

The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The family is at the home. They will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 5pm Sunday afternoon.
