
Margaret “Peggy” Crunkleton Milford, 92, of Carnesville, passed away February 5, 2019 at the Veranda in Carnesville, GA.
Born January 25, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Myrtie Estelle LeCroy Crunkleton. She was the widow of the late William Esco Milford, the great-grandmother of the late James Christian Worley, and mother-in-law of the late Don Caudell and the late Samuel Crane. She was the sister of the late Eris Childs, Charlie Crunkleton, Johnny Crunkleton, Dan Crunkleton, Doug Crunkleton, Billy Crunkleton, Sam Crunkleton, Dot Blanton, and Phil Crunkleton. She was a longtime member of the Allens United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, the United Methodist Women Group and her beloved Sunday School Class.
Survivors: four daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Joe Whitlock, Red Hill, Connie and James Worley, Oklahoma City, OK, Susan and Claude Childs, Toccoa, GA, and Karen Caudell, Red Hill, GA.; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Wanda Milford, Carnesville, GA; ten grandchildren: Joey and Leigh Whitlock, Tracey and Mark Stowe, Jamie and Joanne Worley, Mandy and Josh Maberry, Joni and Wesley Whitfield, Kyle and Annette Caudell, Craig and Tiffany Caudell, Ryan and Erin Milford, Meredith and Jeff Kilgore, and Matthew and Chantay Milford; twenty-nine great-grandchildren: Maley, Anna, Abigail, Drew, and Maggie Whitlock, Kristi, and Christopher Stowe, Alyssa Davis, Spencer, Jaidyn, and Jakob Worley, Koy, Kaya, and Kodi Maberry, Abby and Jake Whitfield, Kaylyn, Kaden, and Kendyl, Ryder, and Rowan Caudell, Boston and Liv Kilgore, Micah Tate, CanaJo, OllieMae, Elsie Tay, Emily and Sarah Milford: one brother, Jerry Crunkleton, Carnesville, GA; two sisters; Jeanette McFarlin, Carnesville, GA, and Undine Hilley, Carnesville, GA.
Services will be Thursday afternoon at 3pm at the Allens United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joey Whitlock and Rev. Kyle Caudell. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The family is at the home of Steve and Wanda Milford, Rocky Ford Road, Carnesville. They will receive friends from 12noon until 2:30 Thursday afternoon at the Ginn Funeral Home. Fred and I are so sorry to hear about the passing of Ms. Peggy. This beautiful lady who has given so much love and compassion to her family and community will surely be missed. When I remember Peggy I always remember a smile and a sweet spirit. She always brought ripe tomato sandwiches to the South Reunion
. which Esco requested. She was a great Mom. You can see that in her children. My heart goes out to Karen,Connie,Jean,Susan and Steve and their families. My prayers for comfort.
