
Zelpha Grace McFarlin Canady, 88, of New Bethel Community, passed away Saturday morning, May 29, 2021.
Born July 28, 1932, in Pelzer, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Avant and Ruby Grace Taylor McFarlin. She was the widow of the late David Canady, mother of the late Ann Canady Ward, and Dan Canady, and grandmother of the late Capri Patterson and Josh Canady. The last member of her immediate family she was the sister of the late L C McFarlin, Wendell McFarlin, Roy McFarlin, Rachel Whitley, and Betty Thomas. She was retired from Milliken Industries. She was the oldest member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Jan Nethery, Toccoa, and Jill and Mike Neave, Seneca, SC; son and daughter-in-law, David and Donna Canady, Carnesville; ten grandchildren: Jeremy and Melanie Adams, Clint, Dusty, Hope, Jesse David, Ashley, and Blake Canady, Levi and Taylor Neave; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11am Tuesday morning at the B D Ginn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tommy Childress. Committal and interment with Rev. Joey Steward, will be at the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The family is at their homes. They will receive friends from 4 until 6pm Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. They will also receive friends from 10am until 11am Tuesday morning prior to the service. Condolences may be left at ginnfuneralhome.com.
She was a very special person in my life. I’m going to miss her so so much. I love you all so much and you all are in my thoughts and prayers.
