Betty South Forester, 87, of the Tom's Creek Community, passed away September 7, 2023, at the Veranda of Carnesville.
Born February 2, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Kermit Johnson and Ada Lee Bruce South. She was the wife of the late Don Forester, and sister of the late Lamar South, Jones South, and Annie Sue "Wendell" Bramlett. She and her husband operated the Echo Restaurant for 50 years. She was a member of Tom's Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include,one son and daughter-in law, Mark and Gwen Forester of Martin; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Steve Reed of Martin, and Linda and Mickey Hill of Martin; six grandchildren, Matthew Reed, Caroline Reed, Jonathan and Nathan Forester, Anna Fields, and Austin Hill; thirteen great-grandchildren, Hannah Payne, Eli Payne, Korbin Reed, Bryson White, Brayden White, Bryleigh White, Noah Hill, Memphis Hill, Micah Fields, Gabby Forester, Mackenzie Forester, Emorie Forester, and Lexie Forester.
Services will be Sunday afternoon at 3pm at Cross Roads with Rev. Wayne Marcus. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Reed, Austin Hill, Jonathan Forester, Nathan Forester, Brayden White, Bryson White, and Alex Fields.
Mrs. Betty Forester is at the Ginn Funeral Home. She will be placed in the church at 2pm Sunday afternoon. The family will be at the home of Linda and Mickey Hill, and will receive friends from 2pm until 3pm at the Cross Roads Baptist Church prior to the service. Friends may come by and pay their respects Friday afternoon and Saturday morning at the funeral home.
