Betty Louise Cash Wright, 80, of the New Franklin Community of Canon, passed away Sunday evening, December 4, 2022, at the Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born December 4, 1942, in Toccoa, GA, she was the daughter of the late Judge Lester and Naomi Rebecca Patrick Cash. She was the mother-in-law of the late Larry James Smith. She was a member of a family of 15 and was survived by 2 sisters. She was a retired seamstress and had worked for Carwood Industries and Franklin Sportswear. She was a member of Double Branches Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Ray Junior Wright; her daughter , Sandra Smith of Canon; grandchildren, Tiffany (Pepper) Lee, Canon, and Jamie Smith of Augusta; great-grandchildren, Ayden and Lariat Ray Lee; sisters, Jean Youngblood, Toccoa, and Opal Colston, Taylorsville, GA.
Services will Friday afternoon at 1pm at Double Branches Baptist Church, with Rev. Nate Bunner, and Rev. Ben Jordan. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The family is at their homes and will receive friends from 11am until 1pm at the church prior to the service. Flowers are optional but they respectively asked that memorials be made to the family to assist in medical and funeral expenses.
