Warren “Chuck” Murphy, age 57, of McDonough, Georgia, fought and won the battle over cancer; he went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2020. His body was healed and made whole, after fighting cancer for over a year. Heaven gained a GREAT MAN on April 6, 2020. Chuck was born in Carnesville, Georgia, on July 11, 1962, to Marianne and Charles Murphy. He graduated from Franklin County High School in 1980. He attended the University of Georgia and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in 1984. He also completed his Master’s degree in Business from Georgia College, while working and raising a family in the early 1990s. He worked at Robins AFB in Warner Robins, Georgia from 1985 to 1991. He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration in the Atlanta area from 1991, until his passing. Survivors include his wife of 32 plus years, Sherrell Dixon Murphy; sons, Matthew Chuck Murphy of Locust Grove, and Cole Dylan Murphy of McDonough; granddaughter, Lexie Marie Murphy; parents, Charles and Marianne Murphy of Carnesville; brother, Rocky Murphy of Carnesville. Chuck had numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, in-laws, and other family members. Chuck attended and was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church in McDonough GA. He loved his church. Chuck loved his UGA Bulldogs, lifting weights, boating, walking, hunting, studying his Bible, a love of all sports, going to the beach and the mountains, helping others, but most of all being with his family. He adored his wife, his two boys, his granddaughter, his friends, his co-workers, all people. He truly loved all people. He always had a smile on his face and an infectious laughter. Chuck was a man of faith, strength, honor, integrity, character, always thankful, trustworthy, accountable, and loyal, just to name a few.
