Deborah Gail Whitworth Pitts, 62, of Lavonia, passed away Tuesday afternoon at the Piedmont Athens Medical Center.
Born January 21, 1957, she was the daughter of Ozzie Morgan Whitworth and the late Bennie Whitworth. She was the mother of the late Joseph Adam Pitts, and sister of the late Ricky Whitworth. She was member of the Franklin County High School class of 1975, and received an associate degree at North Georgia Technical College. She had worked at Stone Manufacturing and Franklin County Magistrate. She was an administrative assistant with the Stephens County Probation Office in Toccoa, and Arrendale State Prison, Alto, GA. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband Bruce Pitts; mother Ozzie Whitworth, Lavonia; son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Harley Pitts, Lavonia; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Bo Dettmering, Newnan, GA; grandchildren, Logan and Harper; many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday afternoon at 2pm at the B D Ginn Memorial Chapel of Ginn Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce McGee. Interment will be in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home, Carnesville. The family is at the home. They will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Condolences may be left at ginnfuneralhome.com.
