George Pritchett

George Thomas Pritchett, 82, of the Plainview Community, passed away Wednesday evening, January 11, 2023, at NEGA Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.

Born May 24, 1940 in Franklin County, he was the son of the late John Thomas “Jake” and Reba Pritchett Pritchett. He was the father of his beloved son, the late David Thomas Pritchett. The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was the brother of the late Willie Ruth Roach,  Annie Ray Carey, Doris Thomas, Mary Lou Barnes, and Edna Holcomb. He and his wife Jean were married January 3, 1960. He was a well-known master welder and metal worker and operated Pritchett Welding and Repair.  He was a member of Mt Zion Church.

He is survived by his wife Melba Jean Andrews Pritchett; daughter Donna Pritchett; three grandchildren, Brandon, Stephanie, and Tiffany; and five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be Saturday at 2pm at B D Ginn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Tommy Childress and Rev. Tim House. Internment will be at Mt Zion Church Cemetery.

The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. Friends are welcome to come by and pay their respects Friday afternoon from 1 until 5pm and Saturday morning from 9am until 12 noon at the funeral home. The family is at the home and will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 12noon until 2pm at the funeral home prior to the service..  Flowers are welcome but the family request that memorials be made to the Mt Zion Church Building Fund, 4821 Hwy 198, Carnesville, GA 30521.
