Jan Canady Nethery, 70, of the New Bethel Community, passed away Wednesday morning March 8, 2023, at the Scenic View Health and Rehab in Baldwin Georgia.

 

Born January 30, 1953, she is the daughter of the late David and Zelpha Grace McFarlin Canady. She was preceded in death by her daughter Capri Patterson; her husband Robert L. Nethery Jr,; brother, Dan Canady, and sister Ann Canady Ward; her grandparents, Jim and Bonnie Canady, and Avant and Grace McFarlin.

 

She was a member of the 1971 Class of Franklin County High School. She worked for Milliken & Co for 20 years, and Delta Air Lines for 21 years. Her favorite employment was with Yelllowstone National Park, where she worked part time for several seasons throughout the years. She was a lifelong member of New Bethel Baptist Church. She so much loved her church and Sunday School.  And loved being involved helping with youth, senior adults, and the sound system and music program.   She was a member of the Dulcimer Club, and enjoyed collecting many instruments to play. Photography was more than a hobby to Jan. It was her way of bringing joy to others through her Facebook post, sharing her travels and her yards at home.

 

Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law Davy and Donna Canady, Carnesville. and  her sister and brother-in-law, Jill & Mike Neave, Seneca, SC; several nieces and nephews; and her very special friend, Bob Buckley.

 

Services will be Saturday morning at 11am at New Bethel Baptist Church, with Austin Farrow, Rev. Joey Gilbert, and Rev. Joey Stewart. Committal and Interment will be in church cemetery with Rev. Tommy Childress.

 

The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The families are at their home. They will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Friday evening at the funeral home.  Memorials may be in her memory to New Bethel Baptist Church, 1310 New Bethel Rd, Carnesville, GA 30521.
