Joe Calvin McClain, 90, of the Red Hill Community, peacefully passed away at Northeast Georgia Medical Center on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
Mr. McClain was born November 18, 1934 in rural Franklin County, Georgia. Mr. McClain was the son of the late Hoyt and Lillie Mullinax McClain. For many years, Mr. McClain owned his own roofing business and farmed. He was a faithful member of Allens United Methodist Church, where he served in many roles.
He was proceeded in death by his late wife, Carol Andrews McClain, parents, siblings Solon McClain, Ellen Dean Smith, Hoke McClain, Pete McClain, George McClain, Janie Ruth McGahee, Roy Irvin McClain, Jim McClain, and Pruitt McClain.
Mr. McClain is survived by his children, Karen M. (Mike) Westbrook, Mike (Cathy) McClain, and Kevin McClain. Grandchildren Lane Westbrook, LeighAnn C. Aderhold, Clay Westbrook, John Westbrook, and Whitney Cleveland. Great-Grandchildren Gage Westbrook, Alyssa A. Sigala, Gavin Aderhold, Maci Cleveland, Gracie Westbrook, Jackson Cleveland, Georgia Westbrook, Harper Westbrook, Adleigh Cleveland, and Hudson Westbrook. He is also survived by sister-in-law Catherine McClain, numerous nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday March 2nd from 2:00 to 3:30 at Ginn Funeral Home. The service will begin at 4:00 PM at Allen's UMC and will be conducted by the Rev. Mike Westbrook. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home of Mike and Karen Westbrook, 2136 Farmers Academy Road, Martin, Georgia. Ginn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of NGMC.
