Joel Haden Whitsel Jr, 87, of Carnesville, GA, passed away Thursday morning, August 30, 2018 at the Hart Care Center in Hartwell.
Born June 16, 1931, in Carnesville, GA, he was the son of the late Joel Haden and Minerva Jane Nix Whitsel Sr. He was a construction worker and served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his sister Ruth Royston, of Carnesville, and nieces and nephews.
His wishes were to be cremated without any memorial or service. The family is honoring his request.
