Lois Sewell King, 98, of the Red Hill Community passed away Monday morning at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Born October 2, 1919, in Carnesville, she was the daughter of the late Jasper and Myrtle Fulghum Sewell. She was the widow of the late Ruben Morris King, mother of the late Ann White, and mother-in-law of the late James Herring.   She was the sister of the late Sara, Mae Belle, Montine, Edna, Joe, Amos, Guy, Eunice, and Ruby.  She was the oldest member of Allens United Methodist Church, where she participated in the Sunshine Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Shelby Jean Herring, Martin, and Jan Mallory of Gainesville, Ga; three grandson and two daughters-in-law , David and Jennifer Herring, Murrayville, Ga, Brian and Kara Mallory, Cumming, and Ethan White, Gainesville, Ga; Great-grandsons,  Austin Herring and Ryleigh Mallory;  great-great-granddaughter, Mary Caroline; one brother, Jim Sewell, Cumming, GA.

Services will be 11am Thursday morning, at the B D Ginn Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gary Ledford and Robert Franklin.  Burial will be in the Allens United Methodist Church.

The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The families are at their homes and will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.   Condolences may be left at ginnfuneralhome.com.
