Mary Elvera Jordan, 83, of Canon, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Anderson Memorial Hospital in Anderson SC.
Born December 11, 1937, in Carnesville, she was the daughter of the late Ed and Lois Allen Jordan. She was the grandmother of the late Bo Porterfield Jr, and Michael Porterfield; great-great-grandmother of Paul Padgett; and sister of the late Walter Jordan, James William Jordan, Alan Jordan, and Marshaline Jordan. She worked as a spinner at TNS Mills. She was a member of Canon Church of God.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Ruby Nell & Mitchell Porterfield, Lavonia, and Carolyn & Greg Askea, Canon, GA; two grandchildren, Cory Porterfield, and Crystal Yachich; four great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Hill, Peyton & Casey Porterfield, Hope & Michael Turner, and Erica & Steven Padgett; three great-great-grandchildren, Michael Turner Jr, Alice Porterfield, and Ryan Turner; two sisters, Patricia Dutton, Anderson, SC and Joyce Myers, Canon; brothers David Jordan and Bud Jordan, of Canon, GA.
Services will be Friday afternoon at 3pm at the B D Ginn Memorial Chapel. Interment will be in the Oakview Cemetery, Canon, GA.
The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The family is at their homes, and will receive friends from 1 until 3pm Friday afternoon at the funeral home. Condolences may be left for the family at ginnfuneralhome.com.
