Melvin Robertson, 73, of the Plainview Community of Franklin County, passed away Wednesday evening, June 15, 2022 at the North East Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville.
Born September 26, 1948, in Grayson, Georgia, he was the son of the late David and Willie Kate Fields Robertson. He was the grandfather of the late Hailey Robertson. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, and had retired as a Captain with the DeKalb County Fire and EMS Service. He was an electrician and was a building inspector for Gwinnett County. He was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Saundra Robertson; two sons and daughters-in-law Brian Robertson, Monroe, GA, and Brad Robertson, Carnesville; daughter Kayla Shipley, Toccoa; step-daughters, Jenna Bailey and Melissa Kemble of Toccoa, Tammy Harrison of Virginia, and step-son Kenny Harrison, of West Virginia; grandchildren, David Robertson, Cheyenne Robertson, Dillon Robertson, Taylor Robertson, Jesse Robertson, Kyleigh Robertson, and Abby Gail Robertson; two sisters, Margaret Marie Robertson and Martha Sue Robertson, both of Monroe, Georgia.
Services will be Saturday morning at 11am at the B D Ginn Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Britt Ginn. Interment with Military and Firefighter Honors will be at Indian Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
