Sara Sue Sosby Garner 91, of the Tom's Creek Community, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 10 2021, at her home.

She was the daughter of John Sears Sr. and Bertha Leola Herron Sosby..  She was the widow of the late Charlie Telford Garner; the great-grandmother of the late Anthony Barberio, and the sister of the late John Sears Sosby, Jr.  She grew up in the Red Hill Area and was a member of Allens  Methodist Church. She moved to Atlanta in the mid 1950's with her husband, Charlie and their 3 oldest daughters. She worked for A&P Bakery. She and her husband returned to Martin, Georgia in 1970 with their daughter Susan. She worked at BJC hospital in Commerce and later she pursued her love of caring for the elderly as a Home Healthcare worker. She retired at the age of 72 to take care of her husband Charlie, her mother and her mother in law until their deaths.  She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends and was famous for her Mac and Cheese. She had a green thumb with flowers and loved birds. She was a member of Tom's Creek Baptist Church

Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Elaine Davis, Martin, GA,  Brenda & Roy Pierce, Melborne FL; Gail and Jimmy Snow, Fayetteville, GA;  and Susan Patterson, Martin, GA.  Three grandchildren, Derenda and Glenn Barberio Rockledge, FL,  Timothy and Jessica Snow Concord, GA, and  Angelia Wells, Atlanta, GA;  great-grandchildren, Alex and Christina  Barberio, Hope Barberio,  Katie Cantrell,  Nikki Cantrell, Tristan Cantrell, and great-great grandson: Jase Deering.

Services will be Saturday morning at 11am at the B D Ginn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wayne Marcus.  Interment will be at Tom's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The body as at the Ginn Funeral Home. The family is at the home.  They will recieve friends from 5 until 7pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
