Stella Louise Simmons Brawner, 70, of Carnesville, passed away Sunday afternoon, October 21, 2018 at the Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born April 12, 1948, in Carnesville, she was the daughter of the late Luther Lounder and Pansy Morgan Simmons. She was the mother of the late Thomas Scott Brawner and aunt of the late Steve Brawner. She had worked at Adams Trucking and was a realtor.
She was a member of the Middle River Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Ed Brawner, Royston; brother Leland “Sam” Simmons, Toccoa; granddaughter, Alicia Brawner, and daughter-in-law Tabatha Brawner, Commerce; and nephews, Vernon Brawner and Greg Simmons.
Services will be Wednesday at 3pm at the Middle River Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Garrett. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. The families are at their respective homes. They will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
