Gennie Faye Bennett Poole, 84, of the Red Hill Community, passed away Friday evening, May 27, 2022, at the Veranda of Carnesville.
Born May 20, 1938, in Irwinville, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Henry and Earlene Doris Williams Bennett. She was the widow of the late Travis Wendell Poole, and mother of Melody Lynn Poole. Faye attended Truitt McConnell College and graduated from North Georgia Technical College. Faye was a homemaker, poultry farmer, and did computer repair. Faye was a member of the Broad River Baptist Church where she was active in the church, writing their newsletter and playing piano. Faye was known for her excellent sewing skills, enjoyed making fashionable clothing, and for her marksmanship.
Survivors include two sons, Wendell Poole, Deatsville, Alabama, and Thomas Poole, Toccoa, GA; three daughters, Sharron Baker of Cleveland, GA, Elaine Vaughn, Carnesville, and Jennifer Schrader, Franklin NC; nine grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother Nelson Bennett, Lavonia, and sister Sherlene McGee, Canon, GA.
Services will be Tuesday morning at 11am at the B D Ginn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brandon Crunkleton. Interment will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens.
The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The families are at their respective homes and will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome but those wishing to do so may make a memorial to a church of their choice.
